Where?

  • On the coast on the small Greek island of Kalymnos a short ferry ride from KOS. Fly to Kos from many of the UK airports in around 4 hours.
  • Stay in self catering apartment style accommodation.

Who is it for?

  • All levels of climber from beginners to those of you who want to learn to lead sport climbs or follow harder climbs.
  • Climbers who want to combine rockclimbing with a super relaxed holiday with rest activities within walking distance from your apartment.

General Course outline:

  • 5+ days of instructed climbing on single-pitch climbs on superb crags such as Odyssey, Grande Grotte, Jurassic and Arhi.
  • "Preparing to climb" skills.
  • Crag and route selection using guidebook or topo.
  • Rope management and knots to use.
  • Equipment selection including quickdraws and anchor building gear.
  • Basic safety skills workshop or review including correctly clipping bolts and belaying with a variety of devices.
  • How to belay another lead climber safely.
  • Practice lead climbing with instructor alongside to advise and ensure you progress well (depending on course and your needs).
  • Communication skills on busy crags.
  • We will climb a variety of routes and you will be coached on your footwork, handhold selection and movement skills.
  • Tufa climbs.
  • Warming down.
  • Tangible Improvement and personal progression including doing harder climbs.
  • End of day/course reviews with target setting.

What's included:

  • All in country transport including airport transfers to accommodation.

  • Professional instruction by a fully qualified mountain instructor.

  • Written and verbal feedback and development targets at the end of course review.

  • £495 per person for 5+ day course (2 persons minimum
